Activating the waterfront with culinary experiences
Situated next to the port in Genoa, Italy, this project features a culinary school and a public market. The site's long, narrow shape inspired the design, which divided the space into two volumes, reminiscent of Seoul's Common Ground market. Both volumes are raised to create continuous waterfront access and are brought together with an overarching roof with an organic form. Louvers on the waterfront facade offer shading while providing dynamic views of the water, varying in depth to correspond with interior activities.
